About this project
An independent directory maintained by José Antonio Cano Trigueros. It brings together land, funding, training and advice to start farming, take over a holding or hand one on. Applications and services are handled by the organisations linked in each record.
FarmSuccession is not an official service and does not represent the administrations or organisations it links to.
What this project is
FarmSuccession is a documentary inventory of public resources for farm succession and access to farming. It helps people find land, funding, training, advice and transfer services; it is not a marketplace, an advisory service or an application portal.
Who maintains it
José Antonio Cano Trigueros maintains the site as an independent, non-commercial project. It has no external funding, consortium or institutional backing.
Method and coverage
A resource is included when it can be documented from a public source published by an administration or by the organisation providing it.
- The source identifies the resource and the organisation responsible for it.
- There is enough evidence to describe its purpose, territorial coverage and documented status.
- The record links its sources and states when they were consulted.
- Information that cannot be established remains unverified rather than being inferred.
The directory is not exhaustive. Content remains in its original language; searching does not translate the words you enter. Automated checks are separate from human review. A resource marked active does not necessarily have an open application period: each record says whether you can apply now.
Based on primary sources
Public administrations and the organisations providing the resource.
Documented with quotes
Quoted passages let you compare the summary with its sources.
Automated structure and consistency checks
Automated checks cover data structure and consistency. They do not replace human review or confirm current availability.
Dated
Sources show when they were consulted; circumstances may have changed.
The 2014-2016 project
This domain hosted the European Farm Succession project between 2016 and 2018. That project ended; the present site is independent and has no connection to its consortium.
The partners shared methods for family and extra-family transfer. Their main surviving output is a 52-page toolkit covering an eight-stage succession process and twelve practical tools, presented at the Brussels conference on 7 and 8 November 2016.
